LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win the 1v1 decisively due to your range advantage — your Q outranges almost everything Malphite has, and his W passive armor bonus doesn't matter when you're never in auto-attack range.
- Post-6, you still win the pure 1v1 if you respect his R gap-close, but his R is an instant hard CC that can one-shot combo you if you're caught without your E up, so the kill threat becomes mutual and positioning errors are punished severely.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is to poke with Q at max range during the channel phase, then follow up with E to slow him if he tries to walk up, and W to zone him off the wave entirely.
- Never commit to a full combo unless his R is on cooldown — a full rotation on a tanky Malphite mid-game will not kill him, and you'll be left with cooldowns when his jungler arrives.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave consistently with Q and W to deny Malphite CS under tower, as he has poor waveclear early and loses significant gold if zoned.
- However, avoid overextending after the push — Malphite's R has extreme range at level 6 and he will look to roam or set up a dive with his jungler once the wave is frozen near your tower.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand still while charging your Q in a position where Malphite can walk up and trade autos — his W passive gives him bonus armor and his autos hurt more than you expect early.
- The critical mistake is burning your E defensively on a fake engage and then having no escape tool when his jungler ganks, so treat your E as a survival cooldown, not a poke tool.
