LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you do not reliably win a straight scuttle fight against Olaf unless you land your E knockup and immediately follow with Q and autos before he closes distance — if he lands his Q slow, your W clone will not save you because he will simply chase the real you down with his passive attack speed.
- From level 6, your win condition in a 1v1 is to force him to use his R early by faking aggression with W, then re-engaging with your full E-Q-R combo when his R timer is running out, as his R removes your ability to peel or disengage and you need to outlast it.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Olaf will most likely start Red Buff, clear to Raptors, then contest scuttle aggressively at level 3 — he is one of the fastest early clearers and will look to fight you at scuttle rather than gank, because his level 3 is a strong power spike.
- Expect him to invade your jungle after scuttle if he wins it, targeting your second buff while you are low.
Invade or Not
- You should not hard invade Olaf early because his sustain from E and his Q slow make 1v1 fights in isolated jungle camps heavily favor him — instead, look to counter-gank or collapse on him with a laner when he overextends, which neutralizes his raw dueling advantage.
- If you do want to pressure him, ward his jungle entrances around 3:45 and look to steal his buff while he is ganking, rather than fighting him directly.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your W purely as an escape tool when Olaf has his R active — he will ignore the clone entirely and run you down, so your W is wasted and you lose a key ability in your combo rotation.
- Avoid engaging Olaf when you are below 50% health at any point in the game, as his E healing scales with his missing health and he will out-sustain your burst and kill you even from a seemingly losing position.
