Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Teemo's range and E passive poison make short trades heavily favor him — you cannot reliably walk up to auto without eating poke, and your Q heal is partially negated by the sustained poison damage.
  • Post-6, your R changes the dynamic significantly: if you can close the gap and land R, the suppression combined with W passive healing on a poisoned target gives you enough sustain to win extended fights, but Teemo's E still reduces your auto-attack damage during the suppression window, so the kill is not guaranteed unless you are ahead.

How to Trade

  • Your best trade pattern is to absorb a small amount of poke, wait until your W passive triggers (below 50% HP for the fear aura), then all-in with R to close distance instantly — the suppression prevents Teemo from kiting or using Q blind during the engage.
  • Never attempt short trades by walking up without R available, as Teemo wins every short exchange through range advantage and poison chip damage.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave hard early to deny Teemo free poke on you while you last-hit under pressure — a slow, frozen wave in the middle of the lane is a death sentence because it gives Teemo maximum space to poke you down before you can engage.
  • Once you hit 6, consider letting the wave push slightly toward you so the engage distance is shorter when you use R, reducing the chance Teemo escapes with Q blind active.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not waste R on a Teemo who has his Q available and full HP — a blinded suppression target still deals zero auto-attack damage during the blind duration, and if he activates Q just before or during your R, you lose most of your damage output for the fight.
  • Always respect his Q cooldown timing before committing to an all-in.
