LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, Tahm Kench wins most extended trades due to his W shield absorbing your damage and his passive stacks punishing you back with bonus damage; you can look for short burst trades with Q when his W is on cooldown, but you lose if he gets to stack his passive fully.
- Post-6, your R gives you a reliable all-in tool, but Tahm Kench's W still absorbs a significant portion of your burst and his healing is substantial, so you need him low enough from prior trades for R to actually finish him.
How to Trade
- Your best pattern is to poke with Q from max range to proc your passive healing, then disengage before he can stack his passive and retaliate with his own sustained damage; never commit to a long trade where his W shield refreshes and his passive stacks reach full damage.
- Wait for his W to be on cooldown before going for any meaningful all-in, as that ability alone negates a large portion of your damage window.
Wave Control
- Push the wave early to force him under tower, where his short-range kit makes it harder for him to trade effectively and his wave clear is slow enough that you can maintain pressure; however, do not overextend into his tower range where he can freely stack his passive on you with no escape route for you.
- Freezing near your tower is also viable if you are losing trades, as it denies him easy access to you while you wait for jungle assistance.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to all-in him at full health even with R, because his W shield combined with his passive healing and base tankiness means he will survive and out-sustain you in the aftermath.
- Avoid standing in melee range for extended periods trying to proc your passive healing, as his passive stacks will deal more damage to you than your healing recovers in a prolonged fight.
