Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win extended trades at all levels because your W absorbs Warwick's Q burst and your passive stacks punish him for staying in melee range; at level 3 you have your full basic kit and can confidently look for extended fights since your sustain and shield outclass his at that stage.
- Post-6, Warwick's R is a genuine threat because it suppresses you and prevents you from using W to shield during the channel, so you must respect his all-in potential and not let him catch you below roughly 40% health.
How to Trade
- Your best pattern is to walk up aggressively to force him to either trade or back off, using your Q slow to stick to him and stack your passive, then activating W to absorb his retaliatory Q and continue the trade; the longer the fight goes, the more your passive damage and sustain tilt it in your favor.
- Deny him the short trade pattern he wants by body-blocking and using your Q to prevent clean disengages.
Wave Control
- Slow-push the wave to build a large minion wave, then crash it into his tower to force him to choose between farming under tower and engaging you; your superior sustain and tankiness mean you can afford to be aggressive during the crash window.
- Avoid hard freezing unless you are significantly ahead, as Warwick can use Q to safely farm from range and you want to force him into melee range where your passive punishes him.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W preemptively as a damage tool when Warwick has R available, because burning W means you have no shield to absorb his R damage during the suppression, which is the one window where he can genuinely kill you.
- Avoid letting him poke you down with repeated Q casts from range without responding, as he will heal back his own damage while you slowly lose health with no way to efficiently trade back at range.
