Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight decisively due to your W's passive healing scaling off missing health and your Q providing burst sustain, while Shyvana has no CC and relies purely on DPS that hasn't scaled yet.
- From level 6, you win 1v1 when you can land your E to close the gap and proc your passive fear, then chain Q to sustain through her damage — do not fight her when she has full Fury and is near her E transformation threshold, as her sustained DPS in dragon form will outlast your burst window.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Shyvana will almost always run a full clear starting red or blue depending on side, prioritizing twin camps (raptors/wolves) to stack Fury quickly and reach level 6 as fast as possible.
- She will avoid early skirmishes entirely and look to contest dragon as soon as she hits 6, so expect her to be on the opposite side of the map from you in the early game.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Shyvana at her second buff around 3:15–3:30 if you know her starting side, as she has no reliable escape or CC to punish you at that stage.
- Target her red buff side if she started blue, catching her between camps where she cannot disengage — your W passive sustain and Q burst make you heavily favored in a 1v1 at this point.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Shyvana freely stack Fury and reach 6 without contesting dragon — if she gets two or three free dragons, her passive resistances make her nearly unkillable in extended fights even for you.
- Avoid fighting her in her E form when she has full Fury and dragon buffs stacked, as your Q healing will not compensate for the sustained damage output she produces in that state.
