Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Quinn's range and E harass make it nearly impossible for you to trade favorably — she can poke you down, use E to vault away or onto you to reset distance, and her W blind only adds to the difficulty if you do manage to close.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a meaningful power spike with the AOE damage and knockback, but Quinn's mobility still lets her disengage or reposition before you can stack your full combo, so you need to force fights near walls or when she's already low.

How to Trade

  • Your best trade pattern is to absorb a Quinn poke, wait for her E cooldown to expire, then use Q to close the gap and immediately chain W into auto-attacks to proc your passive heal — the passive sustain is critical here, as it lets you recover between trades and eventually outlast her poke if you're patient.
  • Never initiate while her E is available, as she will use it to escape or reposition and you'll waste your Q cooldown with nothing to show for it.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave hard early to force Quinn under tower, where her range advantage is partially neutralized and she risks losing CS — your wave clear with E and W is strong enough to maintain pressure.
  • Avoid letting the wave slow-push toward you, as that gives Quinn a safe poke environment with minion cover and easy escape routes if you try to engage.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not blindly walk up to trade when Quinn has full E charges and is at full health — this is the single biggest mistake Volibear players make in this lane, as you will take a full poke combo, get vaulted, and be unable to respond.
  • Respect her kiting potential and only commit to a full fight when you have R available, she is low, or she has already used E.
