Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win this lane comfortably because your Q sustain negates his poke and your W lets you dodge his E all-in, making him unable to convert trades into kills; post-6 he becomes genuinely dangerous because his R removes your kill threat temporarily and his damage scales hard, so you must respect his all-in window and not be caught low with W on cooldown.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to Q him whenever he walks up, pool his E engage to negate his burst window, then re-engage with E and Q after he has wasted his cooldowns; you win the war of attrition because your sustain is continuous while his damage is cooldown-dependent.

Wave Control

  • You want to slow-push and build a large wave, then back off to let it crash into his tower, denying him the ability to freely fight you in the open while also forcing him to choose between taking tower damage and engaging you; this also gives you time to recall and return with items without losing significant CS.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use W reactively to dodge his autos during a trade — save it specifically for his E engage, because if you pool his E you completely negate his primary damage window; burning W early on a minor auto-attack means he can immediately re-engage with E while your pool is on cooldown and kill you.
