- Pre-6, Ahri wins most extended trades due to her Q poke, E hard CC, and the fact that your W has a long cooldown that she can bait out before engaging — post-6, you gain meaningful sustain and burst with R, but Ahri's R still lets her dodge your R or re-engage on her terms, so the 1v1 remains contested rather than clearly in your favor.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to absorb her Q poke with passive shield stacking, wait for her to use E, then immediately pool with W to dodge any follow-up, re-engage with Q and empowered E stacks — never trade when her E is up, as the charm into Q-W-R combo will outdamage your response.
Wave Control
- You want to push the wave consistently to deny her roam windows, since Ahri's primary power is roaming with R — shoving into her tower forces her to farm under it, and if she roams you can punish her tower and ping your team, as you have no reliable way to follow her R-based roams.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W reactively to dodge her Q alone — her Q damage is manageable and W has a 26-second cooldown early; saving W for her E engage is critical, because getting charmed while W is on cooldown means you take her full combo with no escape and no damage mitigation.
