Who Wins
- You win pre-6 trades through superior sustain and poke, as Aatrox struggles to land Q sweet spots on your mobile kit and has limited gap closing.
- Post-6 becomes more even as Aatrox's R provides massive healing and stats, but you can still outplay with W pool timing and superior burst potential.
How to Trade
- Use Q poke when Aatrox abilities are on cooldown, then immediately back away to avoid his Q combo retaliation.
- If he commits with E-Q, pool the second or third Q cast to negate his damage and healing, then punish with empowered Q when pool ends.
Wave Control
- Maintain a slow push or freeze near your tower to deny Aatrox easy all-ins while keeping minions available for Q sustain.
- Avoid hard shoving unless you can recall safely, as Aatrox excels at punishing overextended Vladimir with his chain combo.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never pool the first Q cast reflexively, as good Aatrox players will hold their remaining casts and E dash to follow your pool exit.
- Getting hit by W chains while low on health is often fatal, so respect his engage range when below 60% HP.
