Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your Q on Ambessa before she can dash away — her Q has multiple charges but she needs to be in melee range to stack passive, so a well-aimed Q that pins her removes her mobility and lets you W-stack into E for a full trade.
- From level 6, your R is a guaranteed lockdown that she cannot dodge with her E, so the win condition is baiting out her E dash first, then immediately casting R to lock her in place and follow up with Q into full combo.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Ambessa will likely start red buff and path toward scuttle aggressively at level 3, looking for early skirmishes since her kit is designed around early combat dominance.
- She may also invade your second buff if she senses a path overlap, so ward your blue or red buff entrance at 3:00 to avoid being caught between camps.
Invade or Not
- You should generally avoid invading Ambessa pre-level 6 because her Q mobility and passive burst make 1v1 trades in tight jungle corridors heavily favor her — she can chain dashes to stack passive and outdamage you before your W fully stacks.
- Post-level 6, you can look to invade if you track her on the opposite side of the map, as your R guarantees a lockdown she cannot escape from.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not charge your Q in an obvious position where Ambessa can simply dash away with E before it connects — a missed Q is a massive cooldown loss that leaves you immobile and vulnerable to her full passive-stacked combo.
- Avoid trying to fight her in open areas without landing Q first, as her superior mobility will let her kite your W stacks and disengage before you deal meaningful damage.
