Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win most extended trades because your E into empowered W combo deals significant burst and your passive fear interrupts Viktor's W stun setup, but Viktor's Q shield absorbs part of your poke and his range on E is comparable to yours, so neither champion dominates cleanly at levels 1-2.
  • At level 3 you gain meaningful kill pressure if you land E into W fear combo before he can place his W gravity field, but post-6 Viktor's R makes extended fights dangerous as the storm persists and forces you to reposition while he freely lands E augment aftershocks.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to bait out Viktor's W placement first, then immediately engage with E to proc your passive fear on him before he can stack the gravity field to a stun — the fear interrupts his ability to follow up and gives you a free W into Q burst window.
  • Avoid trading when your passive shield is on cooldown, as Viktor's E augment aftershock deals a second wave of damage that punishes you heavily if you have no mitigation available.

Wave Control

  • You want to shove the wave early to deny Viktor Hex Fragments from minion kills, as his passive scaling on augments is a core part of his power curve and delaying his augments meaningfully weakens his mid-game.
  • However, avoid overextending under his tower without vision, as his W placed in your escape path combined with R can turn a roam attempt into a death trap with minimal counterplay.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk into Viktor's pre-placed W while trying to all-in him, as getting stunned mid-combo completely negates your burst window and leaves you exposed to his full E augment aftershock plus R damage with no way to respond.
  • Many Vex players also mistakenly use R to engage from long range when Viktor has R active, landing inside the storm and taking sustained damage throughout the fight — save your R for gap-closing after he has burned his W.
