Who Wins
- Pre-6 you are not a free winner — Renekton's level 2 and 3 all-in with empowered W stun into empowered Q heal can burst you down faster than your W passive resistances can compensate, so respect his early aggression; post-6 the matchup shifts heavily in your favor because your R gives you a reliable kill condition on a champion whose power curve drops off after the early game.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to use Q and E to poke and maintain distance, letting your W passively shred his armor over repeated short interactions rather than committing to one long trade; when Renekton dashes in, absorb the trade with W active to reduce his damage, then punish his E cooldown with your own sustained damage before he can reset.
Wave Control
- You want to play around a slow push or freeze near your tower, as this forces Renekton to walk up into your Q range and denies him the ability to use his E aggressively without overextending; a frozen wave also removes his ability to all-in you safely, since he cannot disengage easily if the wave is stacked against him near your side.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your E trying to set up your R on a Renekton who has his E available, because he will simply dash out of the grab attempt and punish your cooldown; save E for moments when his E is confirmed on cooldown or when he has already committed his dash aggressively into you.
