Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win this matchup cleanly because your passive shotgun knees proc on every Q Locke throws at you, punishing his approach angles, and your W shield directly counters his burst window — at level 2 you can already run W into him and trade favorably if he mispositions.
  • Post-6 the matchup becomes more dangerous because his R can execute you below threshold and his E-W all-in deals significant burst, but your R suppression and execution flip the kill pressure back in your favor if you can land it.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to walk toward Locke with W active to absorb his Q poke and E burst, then proc your passive shotgun knees repeatedly during the trade — his W true damage hurts you but your shield and sustain outlast his combo if you don't let him disengage and reset with W heal.
  • Force extended fights rather than short trades, as his W heal is most valuable when he can recast it on his own terms.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave consistently with your Q and passive to deny Locke the slow-push setup he wants — if he tries to freeze, use your E to reposition him off the wave and break the freeze with your superior waveclear.
  • Avoid letting him build a slow push that crashes a large wave into your tower, as that gives him free Q-stack opportunities while you're occupied last-hitting.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your R on Locke when he has his W active, as he can absorb the suppression damage and heal a significant portion back — wait for his W to be on cooldown or already recasted before committing R, otherwise you hand him a free heal and waste your primary kill tool.
