Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Urgot's passive shotgun knees punish you heavily if you try to stack Q at close range, and his W shield absorbs your burst window — you lose most extended trades before level 6 unless you land Q stacks from range and immediately disengage before his knees proc.
  • At level 3 you gain E-Q-W combo access, which gives you a brief window to all-in if Urgot's W is down, but his base durability and sustain through his passive still make this a losing trade if he's healthy.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to stack Q from max range, then use E to close the gap only when Urgot's W is on cooldown — immediately activate your own W to absorb his counterattack damage and heal back, then recast W to end it before he can drain too much true damage from you.
  • Never commit E into a Urgot who has W available, as he will shield your burst and out-sustain the trade entirely.

Wave Control

  • You want to shove the wave early to deny Urgot free farm under tower, since his waveclear is mediocre pre-6 and you can force him to take tower shots — however, avoid overextending to stack Q on him near his tower, as his W-E chain can lock you down for a kill.
  • After shoving, back off to the river or ward bush to poke with Q safely rather than fighting for the wave.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not activate W reactively in the middle of Urgot's W-E chain just to survive — his E suppresses you and you cannot recast your W during suppression, meaning you waste the heal and take the full true damage without the recovery benefit.
  • Always pre-activate W before committing to an all-in so you control the recast timing yourself.
