Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you have a range advantage and W poison stacking, but Fizz's Q-E burst pattern means a single all-in from him at level 3 can kill you if you are low from minion damage or overextended.
  • Post-6, Fizz's R is a near-instant kill threat on you specifically because you have no mobility and low base HP — you do not win the 1v1 after 6 unless Fizz is significantly behind.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to stay at maximum auto-attack range, apply W on cooldown, and use Q to slow him if he walks up, never letting him close the gap for free.
  • You want to whittle him down to around 50% HP over several minutes of passive poke before he can realistically all-in you, not force a direct trade.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave with autos and W poison to maintain lane priority and deny Fizz the ability to roam freely — if you let him shove and roam, he will find kills elsewhere while you are stuck farming.
  • However, do not overextend past the midpoint of the lane, as Fizz's Q range is enough to initiate a kill trade if you are caught without minion cover.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not stand still to auto-attack when Fizz has Q available — his Q-E combo is fast enough that if you are not already moving away, you will eat the full burst before you can react.
  • Constantly repositioning and keeping max range is not optional in this matchup; it is your only way to avoid dying to a single rotation.
