Pre-6, you do not win the level 2–3 all-in against a competent Renekton who uses E-W-Q-E correctly, as his burst and stun window deal more damage than your sustained autos can answer in a short trade; your goal early is to survive, farm, and look for extended trades only when he has used both E charges or is low on Fury.
Post-6, your R fundamentally changes the matchup — draining his armor and AD while healing yourself turns you into a stat-check monster, and you become the clear 1v1 winner in any extended fight.

Your best trading pattern is to wait for Renekton to waste both E charges or commit to a trade without Fury, then walk up with Q empowered autos and use W to deny his retreat path; once you have R, open every serious trade with R immediately to start draining his stats, then use W to cut off his escape and Q to sustain through his remaining burst.
The longer the fight goes after R is applied, the more the math favors you, so your entire pattern should be oriented around extending fight duration.

You want to slow-push the wave by last-hitting and letting it build, then crash a large wave into his tower to force him to choose between farming under tower or fighting you in a bad position; this denies him the clean short-trade environment he prefers and forces longer engagements near his structure where your W pillar is most punishing.
Avoid hard shoving yourself because it gives Renekton a reset window to base and buy items that spike his early damage before your R comes online.

Do not use W reactively as a panic button when Renekton dashes in — place it proactively to cut off his second E escape route before he commits, because if he dashes through it or around it, you lose your most important tool for extending the fight.
Misusing W by placing it behind yourself or too far away is the primary reason Trundle players lose trades they should win in this matchup.
