Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight only if you land Q to blind Briar before she engages, then kite with W active and auto-attack spacing — if she gets on top of you without the blind landing, her W sustain and burst will overwhelm you at close range.
- From level 6, you can win a 1v1 if you pre-place E mushrooms in the fight zone, force Briar to walk through them, and maintain max range while Q is on cooldown, but if she gaps close with her E and sticks to you, your damage output is too low to outduel her W healing.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Briar typically starts Red Buff side, clears Red > Raptors > Krugs or Red > Wolves > Blue > Gromp, prioritizing a fast level 3 with high sustain, then looks for an early gank or scuttle contest around 3:15–3:30 — she favors aggressive early pathing because her W gives her enough sustain to skip backing.
Invade or Not
- You should not invade Briar early; her W sustain and close-range burst make 1v1 fights in her jungle extremely dangerous for you before she has used her abilities on camps.
- If you want to apply pressure, the optimal play is to counter-jungle her opposite side camps after she commits to a gank or scuttle, around 4:00–5:00, taking her Blue or Red while she is occupied elsewhere.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not rely solely on Q blind to win trades — Briar's W healing is substantial enough that even a blinded Briar can sustain through your damage if she stays in melee range, and overcommitting to a fight without E mushrooms pre-placed will result in you dying to her raw stat advantage in a prolonged skirmish.
