Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you have a clear advantage through superior range, Q blind, and poison sustain — you can freely poke Aurelion Sol whenever he steps up to farm, and his passive stars require him to be close to deal damage, which your range denies.
  • At level 1 and 2 you can establish significant HP leads by auto-attacking with poison whenever he approaches the wave, forcing him to either take damage or miss minions.

How to Trade

  • Post-6, Aurelion Sol's R into Q combo becomes a genuine kill threat if he can land it, and your blind only negates his passive stars, not his ability damage — you must respect his burst potential and avoid standing near walls where his R can pin you.
  • You maintain lane control through mushroom placement and poke, but you cannot freely walk up to him anymore without risking a full combo, so play at maximum auto-attack range and use terrain awareness.

Wave Control

  • Your best trading pattern is to Q blind him first to neutralize his passive star damage, then auto-attack with poison to stack damage over time while staying at maximum range — never let him get close enough to land E on you, as the cone range grows with his stacks.
  • If he uses W to close the gap, immediately Q blind and disengage rather than fighting in melee range, since his E executes minions and deals significant damage in close quarters.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Place mushrooms in the brushes and along common roaming paths near your lane to deny Aurelion Sol's W roaming, which is his primary win condition in this matchup — if he roams freely and stacks elsewhere, your lane lead becomes irrelevant.
  • Push the wave into his tower when he attempts to roam so he must choose between losing farm and stacks or abandoning the roam, but do not overextend past river without vision since his W return timing can catch you off guard.
