Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose this matchup at every level spike — Pantheon's W stun is instant and his empowered Q deals more burst than your level 1–3 combo, and his passive shield absorbs one of your key damage instances.
- You must play reactively before level 6, farming safely and using Q only when Pantheon overextends, because engaging on him in a straight trade will result in you losing HP trades consistently.
- Post-6, your R fundamentally changes the dynamic: you can roam, assassinate a sidelaner, and return with a gold lead that lets you burst Pantheon before his passive shield and W can respond.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to use Q for poke only when Pantheon's passive shield is on cooldown (it has a ~12-second cooldown when triggered), then all-in with W → Q → E sequence when his shield is down.
- Do not try to fight him with his shield active — it absorbs your Q damage and negates a significant portion of your burst.
- If he misuses his W on a minion or misses it, that is your window to trade aggressively.
Wave Control
- You should not try to win the wave control battle against Pantheon — his E clears faster and he can zone you off the wave with threat of W stun.
- Instead, let him push, farm safely under tower, and use the pushed wave state as your roam trigger post-6.
- Your R roam to bot or top is your primary win condition, so prioritize getting level 6 quickly by taking short trades only when safe rather than contesting the wave aggressively.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E to dash aggressively onto Pantheon — his W will stun you mid-dash animation or immediately after you land, and you will be stuck in his E damage with no escape.
- Many Talon players instinctively dash in to proc W passive bleed, but against Pantheon this puts you directly in his kill range with no reliable out.
