Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win short trades at level 2 once you have Q and W, as your burst damage and W's bleed outpace Annie's poke at close range — however, Annie's E shield absorbs a meaningful portion of your damage, so trades are closer than they appear.
  • Post-6, you have a strong all-in window the moment R is up, but Annie's R stun can interrupt your full combo if she has her passive stacked, making timing critical rather than guaranteed.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to E over her, immediately W to apply the slow and bleed, then Q for the execute modifier, and use R to reposition or extend the kill — the key is engaging only when her passive stun is NOT ready, which you must track actively.
  • Trading when she has 4 stacks is a losing trade regardless of your damage lead, as the stun into her full combo will outdamage your burst at most points in the game.

Wave Control

  • You want to shove the wave quickly with W to create roam opportunities, as your roaming is your primary win condition against Annie who has no mobility to follow.
  • Avoid freezing or slow-pushing into her, because a slow push gives her time to stack passive safely and set up a punishing all-in on you under tower.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not engage Annie when her passive stun is at 4 stacks — this is the single most common mistake Talon players make in this matchup, as her instant stun into R will kill you before your combo resolves.
  • Also avoid using R purely for damage in the all-in; you need it available for the disengage repositioning in case she lands her stun mid-combo.
