Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose extended trades to Talon at levels 2–3 because his W bleed and Q burst exceed your damage at close range and you have no mobility to disengage — your goal is to poke with Q to stack passive and avoid letting him close the gap.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a reliable all-in kill condition as long as your passive stun is ready before he engages, but if he initiates first with E-W-Q, your R may come too late to save you.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to farm Q to build passive stacks passively, then when you reach 4 stacks, bait his E engage and immediately R him the moment he lands — the stun from your passive into R plus W and Q combo will kill or severely cripple him.
  • Never use your passive stun on a non-kill trade; saving it for the all-in or his engage is what makes this matchup survivable.

Wave Control

  • You want to play at max Q range to poke and stack passive without giving Talon a free E gap-close, and you should avoid pushing the wave aggressively since Talon's roam threat is his primary win condition.
  • Keeping the wave slightly on your side of the map forces him to either farm under pressure or roam and lose CS, which is a favorable trade for you.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not waste your passive stun on a small poke trade — burning it for 200 damage leaves you vulnerable to his all-in for the next several seconds while he still has full combo available.
  • Additionally, avoid standing near the wave without E ready, as Talon's E-W-Q can delete you in under a second if you have no shield and no stun to interrupt him.
