At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you can land your E to close the gap and proc your passive bleed, as your burst combo outdamages Ambessa's sustained trading pattern before she can stack her W shields effectively.
From level 6, you need to use your R to reset and re-engage only after confirming your full combo lands, because if Ambessa has her W shield active and you've already burned your burst, she will out-sustain and kill you in the extended fight.

Ambessa will most likely start Red Buff side and path through her bot-side jungle (Red > Raptors or Red > Krugs > Scuttle), as she wants to hit level 3 with her full kit online and look for early skirmishes near the river where her W mobility shines.

You should invade her second buff at approximately 3:15–3:30 if you started opposite side, targeting her Blue Buff if she started Red, because she will be low on health after clearing and your burst at level 3 can force a flash or secure a kill before she has W fully optimized.
Do not invade her Red Buff start at level 2 — she wins that fight cleanly with her W shield and Q poke range advantage.

Do not use your E aggressively to initiate on Ambessa if her W is not on cooldown, because she will immediately proc the shield, absorb your burst window, and retaliate with her own mobility and sustained damage before your cooldowns reset — you will lose that trade every time.
