LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win most trades due to your range advantage and Q-E burst pattern — Gangplank has no reliable gap-close or poke tool to contest you, and his W only removes CC after the fact, not your damage.
- Post-6, your R provides a strong all-in threat, but Gangplank's R gives him global pressure and his barrels start dealing serious damage if he has levels and gold, so the window to kill him narrows as the game progresses.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to land Q on him or a barrel he's about to detonate, then immediately E the sphere into him to stun and follow with auto-attacks before he can W away the CC — the stun window is your damage window.
- Avoid extended trades where he can stack barrel chains on you, as his passive healing from W and barrel burst will outscale your sustained damage if you don't end the trade quickly.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave consistently with Q to deny him the safe space to set up barrels on minions — Gangplank needs stationary setup time to place and chain barrels, and a fast-pushing wave forces him to last-hit under pressure.
- Avoid letting the wave sit in the middle of the lane, as that gives him the room to freely place barrels at range without you being able to punish him.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not walk up to kill a barrel without checking his position first — he can place a second barrel adjacent to the one you're destroying and detonate the chain on you for significant burst damage.
- Also, do not blow your E purely for wave clear or poke; saving it to stun him during an all-in is far more valuable than the marginal damage from a sphere toss.
