Who Wins
- Pre-6 you lose most trades due to Riven's superior mobility and burst combo potential, but can survive with W sustain.
- Post-6 you win extended fights if you steal her R, as your stolen Wind Slash provides massive AOE damage while your base kit offers better sustained damage.
How to Trade
- Look for E2-W-Q combos when Riven wastes her mobility spells, as your W heal negates much of her poke damage.
- Avoid extended trades without your W available, since Riven's shield and mobility let her win short bursts.
Wave Control
- Push early waves with Q to prevent Riven from freezing and zoning you from CS.
- After level 6, maintain wave control in the center to have space for extended fights where your sustain advantage matters most.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste E2 trying to engage when Riven has multiple Q charges or E available, as she'll easily disengage and chunk you.
- Never fight without your W available pre-6, since you lack the sustain to trade favorably against her burst.
