- Pre-6 you have a clear advantage because your W root into E drain combo outdamages Vladimir's Q sustain at every early level, and at level 3 when you have W+E+Q available you can force a decisive trade that Vladimir cannot win without pool; if he uses pool to escape, you have still won the trade on cooldowns.
- Post-6 you become nearly unkillable in extended fights because your R drain stacks souls and heals you faster than Vladimir's R can sustain him, making you the dominant 1v1 champion for the rest of the game.
How to Trade
- Your optimal pattern is to walk up and bait his W (pool) with Q poke or E threat, then immediately commit with W root into E drain once pool is on cooldown; Vladimir's pool has a 26-second cooldown early and he has no other way to interrupt your E channel, so timing your all-in around pool cooldown is the core of winning this lane.
- If he pools your W, back off and reset — never extend a trade while his pool is available.
Wave Control
- You do not need to shove aggressively; instead, maintain a mid-wave state that keeps Vladimir in range of your W root, because a pushed wave forces him under tower where your W-E combo becomes harder to land safely.
- Controlled wave management near the center of the lane maximizes your ability to threaten all-ins while denying him free roam windows.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not throw your W blindly into a Vladimir who has pool available — a missed or pooled W means your E has no setup and you are trading Q-for-Q against a champion whose Q heals him, which is a losing exchange for you.
