Who Wins

  • Pre-6: You win through E setup potential and superior range with Varus's follow-up damage.
  • Post-6: You lose if they engage successfully, but your R gives you survivability and AoE damage in extended fights if you can avoid the initial burst.

Synergy & Trading

  • Use E to set up trades and follow with Q, then let Varus finish with Q poke or autos.
  • Focus on landing E when enemies are going for CS or when they're positioned predictably during wave management.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Roam when you have priority and the wave is in a good state, particularly to help with jungle skirmishes or mid ganks.
  • Your E and R make you excellent in 3v3 or 4v4 fights around objectives.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't waste E on minions or use it when enemies have easy escape routes available.
  • Missing your primary engage tool gives them a free window to either engage on you or freely farm without pressure.
