Who Wins

  • Pre-6: Varus + Swain wins due to superior range and poke damage that you cannot sustain through.
  • Post-6: You win if you can engage successfully with R, as your burst potential with Poppy's follow-up exceeds their damage output.

Synergy & Trading

  • Look for short trades using Q to gap close when Varus uses Q or when Swain misses E.
  • Always follow up with auto-attacks and W for the shield, then disengage before they can retaliate with full combos.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push early levels to hit 2 first and look for an all-in, then maintain a slow push to build minion advantage.
  • Avoid getting frozen on as you need minion waves to gap close effectively with Q.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Never engage when Swain has E available and Varus is positioned safely behind him.
  • Getting caught by Swain's E while Varus has Q ready will result in massive damage that your W shield cannot absorb.
