Who Wins
- Pre-6, you and Xerath lose this lane; Caitlyn's range denies your W healing value and Kai'Sa's burst trades are more efficient than your Q poke at early levels, and your level 2 power spike with Q+W is largely negated by Caitlyn's level 2 headshot pressure.
- Post-6, your R is a game-changer if you land it on both enemies, but Kai'Sa's R means she can dive onto you before you can cast it.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to W yourself and Xerath when Caitlyn pokes, then immediately Q to trade back; only extend into a longer trade if Xerath has landed his E root, otherwise you are burning mana for unfavorable exchanges against Kai'Sa's burst.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should roam only after a successful level 6 R stun that burns enemy summoners or forces a recall; your roam timing is strongest when the wave is pushed into their tower, as Xerath can hold the wave with poke and you can impact mid lane with your R.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E aggressively to try to proc Kai'Sa's passive or trade autos — you are not a melee support and stepping up to auto invites Caitlyn headshots and Kai'Sa all-ins that you cannot survive without burning flash.
