Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you and Elise win the 2v2 — Elise's level 2 all-in combined with your Q poke and E to negate Nautilus's hook makes trading heavily favorable.
  • Post-6, Nautilus's R bypasses your E and the lockdown chain becomes a kill threat, so the 2v2 becomes more dangerous and you need to play more conservatively.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to bait Nautilus's Q with your E ready, then immediately punish the cooldown with your Q poke and Elise's follow-up — Nautilus without his Q is a slow, low-threat target.
  • Use your W to push the wave quickly after a trade to reset the lane state and deny them a follow-up engage.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Push the wave as fast as possible with Q and W to deny Aphelios CS and force Nautilus to choose between engaging in a bad position or backing off.
  • A fast-pushed wave also gives you and Elise freedom to roam or reset without losing significant resources, which is a structural advantage over the Aphelios who needs to farm safely.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not hold your E reactively for too long — if you are waiting for Nautilus's Q every second, you will mistime it or waste it on a feint.
  • After level 6, remember that Nautilus's R is an airborne CC that your E does not block, so positioning away from his R range is more important than relying on your spell shield alone.
