LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win this lane clearly, especially at level 3 when your W, E, and Q combo comes online — you can E slow Gangplank, charge W, and force him to either take the burst or burn his W cleanse.
- Post-6 the matchup becomes more volatile because Gangplank's R can interrupt your W charge at critical moments and his barrel combos deal enough burst to threaten you through your W shield if he has Tri-Force or Sheen.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to use E to slow Gangplank and close the gap, then immediately begin charging W so he must choose between taking the explosion or using his W to cleanse your E slow — either way you win the trade.
- If he cleansed your E, auto-attack and Q him freely since his W will be on cooldown; if he didn't cleanse, let W explode and follow with Q and autos for maximum damage.
Wave Control
- Freeze the wave near your side of the lane to force Gangplank to overextend for CS, making him vulnerable to your all-in combo with no escape route; his barrel setup requires time and space, both of which a freeze denies him.
- When you have priority, shove and roam or take plates, as your wave clear with W is efficient enough to reset the freeze after backing.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not charge W when Gangplank has a barrel already placed near you, as he will detonate it mid-charge to break your shield and deal burst damage before your W even fires; always clear or sidestep barrels before committing to a W charge trade.
