Who Wins

  • You lose early 1v1s pre-6 as Sion's Q poke and E slow make trading difficult, but post-6 you can win extended fights if you avoid his ultimate engage.
  • Your R gives you the mobility and stats to run him down while he struggles to disengage from your poison trail.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to W him when he channels Q, then run through him with Q active to apply poison while his abilities are on cooldown.
  • Avoid trying to trade when his passive shield is up, instead wait for it to decay or bait it out first.

Wave Control

  • Push waves early to build your passive stacks and prevent Sion from getting free Q charges on the wave.
  • Once you have items, you can proxy farm behind his tower to deny him CS and force him to choose between following you or losing waves.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't chase Sion into unwarded areas where he can use R to escape or set up ganks with his team.
  • Avoid fighting him when his W shield is fully charged as the burst damage combined with his Q can chunk you heavily before you can apply meaningful poison damage.
