Who Wins

  • You lose early trades pre-6 as Volibear's Q-W combo outdamages your Q-W-E pattern, especially at level 2-3 when he gets both engage tools.
  • Post-6 you still struggle in extended fights since his R gives him tower diving potential and your R is primarily for map plays rather than dueling.

How to Trade

  • You want to take short trades using Q-W-AA and immediately back off with E through minions to avoid his extended trade potential.
  • Never let him proc his W bite as the healing and damage will win him the trade even through your W shield.

Wave Control

  • You should focus on shoving waves quickly with Q and looking for R plays rather than trying to freeze, as Volibear can easily break freezes with his sustain and all-in potential.
  • Push and roam is your win condition since you can't match his split push.
