Who Wins
- Pre-6, Miss Fortune + Vel'Koz win the 2v2 — their combined poke range, Vel'Koz's passive stacks, and Miss Fortune's Q bouncing off minions deal more burst than your healing can offset early.
- Post-6, the matchup flips significantly: your R can interrupt Miss Fortune's R channel and your team-wide shield/heal sustain makes extended fights heavily favor you.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best trading pattern is to use Q to proc your passive shield, then immediately E onto Tristana to empower her auto-attacks with your aura, forcing short all-ins when Vel'Koz is on cooldown.
- Avoid extended poke wars where Vel'Koz can freely stack his passive — trade only when you can force them to move or dodge.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Push the wave consistently with Tristana's explosive charge to deny Vel'Koz free poke on you while you're standing still farming — a slow wave gives him free passive stacks.
- Once you have level 6, a shoved wave lets you threaten roams or set up a dive with Tristana's R knockback into your R.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand still trying to heal through Vel'Koz poke — his passive stacks apply through your shields and your W heal is not strong enough to sustain repeated full combos.
- Repositioning and breaking his passive stacks by moving unpredictably is more valuable than trying to out-sustain him.
