Who Wins
- Pre-6 you lose most trades due to Jayce's superior range and burst damage from Q-E combo in ranged form.
- Post-6 you still struggle in 1v1s as Jayce can disengage with E knockback and has higher burst potential than your sustained damage.
How to Trade
- Look for E-Q poke when Jayce is in melee form or when his Q is on cooldown, then immediately back off to avoid his retaliation.
- Never commit to extended trades unless you have a significant health advantage and can guarantee multiple spell rotations.
Wave Control
- Focus on safe farming with E-Q from maximum range and push waves quickly to roam with R.
- Avoid fighting for wave control early as Jayce's superior trading means he can freeze and zone you from CS.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't try to match Jayce's roaming or skirmishing power in early-mid game as his burst and mobility give him better pick potential.
- Avoid using R aggressively for engages as the channel time makes you vulnerable to his Q-E burst combo.
