Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you dominate trades with Q-E combo in ranged form and can all-in with melee form if Ryze is low.
  • Post-6 you maintain 1v1 advantage through superior burst damage and ability to disengage with E knockback when he tries to sustain trade.

How to Trade

  • Poke with Q-E in ranged form when Ryze goes for CS, then switch to melee form for all-in if he's below 60% health.
  • Use E in melee form to knock him away if he tries to E-W root you during extended trades.

Wave Control

  • Maintain aggressive positioning to zone Ryze from CS and look to freeze waves near your tower where you can run him down.
  • Push only when you want to roam as your superior early game power should be used to create map pressure.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't waste your Q-E combo on minions when Ryze is in lane as this removes your primary trading tool.
