LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win this lane clearly from level 1 onward because your Q applies burn damage that Yorick's Q healing cannot fully offset, and your W damage reduction neutralizes his burst trading pattern; at level 3 you can look for an all-in if you have high heat, as your overheat autos combined with Q burn will outdamage his sustain.
- Post-6 you retain lane dominance because your R is a hard counter to Yorick's R — you can zone the Maiden on spawn or cut Yorick off from his own ultimate, effectively neutralizing his primary win condition.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to Q Yorick repeatedly to stack burn damage, then when he tries to engage with E, activate W to reduce incoming damage and trade back with autos and continued Q; manage your heat carefully so you can overheat at the moment he commits to a full trade, as overheat autos deal significant bonus damage that punishes him for staying in melee range.
- Never let your heat drop to zero passively — keep it in the 50–75% range so you always have W and Q available without risking silence from overheating at a bad moment.
Wave Control
- You can control the wave freely because your Q clears and pokes simultaneously, so push Yorick in and force him to farm under tower where his Ghoul generation is slower and his all-in threat is reduced; when the wave is pushed, look to roam with R or contest the rift herald, as your R has far more map impact than anything Yorick can offer pre-split.
- Avoid letting Yorick slow-push a large wave into you, because a big wave with Ghouls under your tower is one of the few scenarios where his sustained damage can overwhelm you.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your R trying to kill Yorick in lane when you can use it to deny his R's value or impact the map — using R reactively to zone his Maiden when he pops it is often more valuable than burning it for lane kill pressure.
- Also avoid overextending when your heat is near silence threshold, because a silenced Rumble against Yorick's E slow and Ghoul damage is a free kill for him.
