Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win short trades at level 1 if you land your Q combo aggressively before Yone can stack his passive, but at level 2 Yone gains his E which lets him disengage or reposition after your burst, making extended trades riskier; post-6, Yone's R gives him a reliable engage tool that bypasses your E shield and his true damage on Q3 means your W shield value diminishes significantly in all-ins, so you need to kill him before he can R or you lose the extended fight.
How to Trade
- Your optimal pattern is to use E into Q1-Q2-W-Q3 to front-load all your damage and CC before Yone can proc his passive or use E to escape; never let the trade drag out because his passive soul stacking and true damage conversion punish prolonged fights heavily against you.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave fast with your Q to deny Yone passive farm and force him to last-hit under pressure, then look for all-in dives or roams when the wave is crashing; sitting in a slow push against Yone gives him free passive stacks and lets him poke you with his ranged Q without you being able to respond efficiently.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E defensively to disengage and then immediately re-engage thinking you are safe, because Yone's E lets him follow your dash or reposition instantly, and wasting your E means you have no shield for his burst window; also avoid fighting him when his passive soul is near full stacks, as the true damage conversion will cut through your shield and health simultaneously.
