Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win short trades at levels 1-3 if you can land your full Q combo with auto-resets before Sion's W fully charges, but Sion's passive regeneration and W shield make extended trades punishing — post-6, Sion's R gives him a reliable escape or re-engage tool and his W shield becomes a significant barrier, making the 1v1 increasingly difficult unless you are significantly ahead.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to engage with E into a full Q3 combo with auto-resets, burning Sion's W shield before it fully charges, then immediately disengage with your remaining mobility — never let Sion complete a full W charge against you, as the knockup and damage will negate your trade advantage.
Wave Control
- You want to push the wave consistently to deny Sion passive farm under tower and force him to take poke while last-hitting, since Sion is a strong slow-pusher who benefits from building large waves — freezing near your tower is dangerous because Sion can crash a massive wave and roam or dive you.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not engage on Sion when his W is already charged and glowing, as eating a full W burst will reverse your trade entirely and potentially kill you — also avoid fighting him when he is below 10% HP, as his passive makes him a lethal threat even in death.
