Who Wins
- You win levels 1-3 convincingly with your mobility and combo potential against Illaoi's limited early game options.
- At level 6, you lose the all-in potential as her ultimate completely turns fights around if you don't have a significant health advantage.
How to Trade
- You need to take short trades using E-W-Q combo then immediately disengage before she can respond with her abilities.
- Never extend trades or stay in melee range after your combo as her passive tentacles and Q will out-damage you in extended fights.
Wave Control
- You should freeze the wave near your tower to force her to overextend for CS, making her vulnerable to ganks and your all-ins.
- Avoid pushing into her as she becomes much stronger when fighting near multiple tentacles around her tower.
Mistakes to Avoid
- You must never fight her when she has 2+ tentacles nearby or when her ultimate is available without a significant health lead.
- Getting hit by her E (Test of Spirit) in the middle of the lane is often a death sentence as she can follow up with W-Q-R combo.
