Who Wins
- You win pre-6 trades if you can gap close successfully, as Gnar lacks escape tools in mini form and your combo damage is higher.
- Post-6 becomes more complex as Mega Gnar's R can disrupt your combos and his increased tankiness makes burst trading less effective.
How to Trade
- Look for short Q-W-AA trades when Gnar uses Q on minions, then immediately E away to avoid his return boomerang and kiting.
- Extended trades favor you only if you can stick to him, so use your full combo (Q1-Q2-W-AA-Q3-R) when he's overextended or after baiting his E.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to build minion advantage before Gnar can establish freeze, as he struggles to last hit under tower in mini form.
- Once ahead, maintain slow pushes to create dive opportunities when he's in mini form and vulnerable.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste your E to engage when Gnar has his E available, as he'll simply hop away and kite you to death.
- Avoid fighting him in Mega form unless you have a significant health advantage, as his W stun and R knockback completely shut down your combo potential.
