Who Wins

  • You lose most pre-6 all-ins if Riven gets on top of you, but win through poke and short trades with Q and AA.

How to Trade

  • Focus on Q poke when it's returning through minions to hit Riven, then immediately AA and back away before she can engage.
  • In Mega form, look for W stun setups into R when she commits to trades, as this completely negates her combo potential.

Wave Control

  • Freeze the wave near your tower in early levels to force Riven to overextend for CS, making her vulnerable to ganks.
  • Use your range advantage to thin waves safely rather than hard pushing, as Riven can easily run you down in long lanes.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't waste your E defensively when your rage bar is high, as transforming to Mega form often provides enough tankiness to survive her combo.
  • Avoid using Q for poke when Riven has multiple Q stacks up, as you'll be vulnerable to her gap close during the animation.
