Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win extended trades if you land your full combo (Q-Q-Q into W stun into E shield), but Ahri's passive healing and Q poke make it difficult to find clean all-ins unless she wastes her E.
- Post-6, Ahri's R gives her three dashes to disengage or reposition, making it nearly impossible to stick to her and finish a kill without burning your own R first.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait her E charm before committing — if she misses it, immediately dash in with E to close gap, chain your three Q casts to reposition around her, and use W to stun during her recovery frames.
- Never trade when her E is available, as a landed charm into her full combo will chunk you severely and she can disengage before you recover.
Wave Control
- You want to crash waves into her tower to deny her roam windows and force her to farm under pressure, since she outpokes you in a slow, extended lane.
- Shoving also lets you back safely and denies her the ability to freely roam with R, which is where she generates most of her mid-game value.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not blindly dash onto Ahri with your E when her E is off cooldown — her charm is a point-and-click-level-reliable ability at short range and a successful land means you take her full burst while stunned and she escapes cleanly.
- Burning your gap-close into her charm is the single most common way Riven players lose this lane.
