Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win level 2 if you hit it first and can immediately jump from the bush with an empowered Q into empowered W, but Renekton's level 3 with W stun is a hard counter to your ferocity stacking if he plays reactively.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a reset window to engage from stealth, but Renekton's R sustain and damage output means a straight 1v1 post-6 heavily favors him unless you enter with full ferocity and land your full combo before he can W stun you.

How to Trade

  • Stack ferocity safely by using non-empowered abilities on the wave or in short poke trades, then engage from the bush only when you have 4–5 ferocity stacks and Renekton's W is on cooldown.
  • Your optimal trade is bush jump, empowered Q, empowered W, E, then disengage or finish — do not stay in a prolonged fight with Renekton unless he is low and your ferocity is cycling.

Wave Control

  • Use the bush to control the wave indirectly — if Renekton respects the bush, he will not walk up to last-hit freely, allowing you to create a slow push by denying his Q resets on the wave.
  • However, if Renekton pushes aggressively and removes your bush access by keeping the wave in his favor, you lose your primary pressure tool and must play reactively.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not engage on Renekton when he has fury for an empowered W — his stun will interrupt your combo mid-sequence and allow him to trade back with full Q healing, completely reversing the trade outcome.
  • Never use your R as a pure damage tool in this lane; save it for a moment when Renekton has already burned his W, as that is the only window where your burst can outpace his sustain and counterplay.
