Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win most extended trades at level 3 once you have Q, W, and E — your W stun into Q sustain combo deals reliable damage and denies Rengar's ability to stack ferocity safely, but if Rengar reaches 5 ferocity and empowers his Q into you without your W available, he can burst you down quickly.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a sustained damage and health buffer that Rengar's burst struggles to fully overcome in a straight fight, but Rengar can still kill you if he enters the fight with full ferocity and you have no fury for an empowered W.

How to Trade

  • Force short, controlled trades using E-in, W stun, Q, E-out — this pattern denies Rengar the time he needs to stack ferocity and use multiple empowered abilities on you.
  • Avoid prolonged all-ins without your W available, as Rengar's ferocity system rewards him heavily in extended fights where he can cycle through multiple empowered casts.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave consistently with Q to deny Rengar passive stacks from the bush — if the wave is in the middle or your side, Rengar cannot safely jump from the bush without being exposed, which removes his primary engagement tool.
  • Avoid letting the wave slow-push toward your tower early, as that gives Rengar free bush access and safe ferocity stacking opportunities.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk near the bush without vision or your W ready — Rengar's entire early game revolves around bush-jump engages, and if you are caught without your stun available, he can stack ferocity and burst you before you can respond.
  • Never underestimate his level 2 all-in if he hits it before you, as an empowered Q into empowered W can chunk you severely before you have your full kit.
