LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you have a Ferocity stack ready before engaging — your burst combo (empowered Q into E) deals significant damage quickly, but Hecarim's W sustain and E knockback can disengage or reverse the fight if you don't kill him fast enough.
- From level 6, you win 1v1 if you open with R from brush, immediately spend your Ferocity on empowered Q, and chain E to prevent him from running — Hecarim's damage ramps up over time, so you must end the fight in under 4 seconds or his W healing and sustained DPS will outlast your burst window.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Hecarim almost always runs a full clear starting Red or Blue (depending on side), then takes Raptors or Wolves, and rushes to Scuttle at level 3 using his E to close distance instantly — he prioritizes fast clears and early Scuttle control because his E gives him a combat advantage in the river's open terrain.
- Expect him to look for early ganks post-Scuttle on lanes with CC, as his E knockback into allied CC is a reliable gank pattern even without R.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Hecarim at his second buff (around 3:15–3:30) if you started opposite side, targeting him between camps when he has no Ferocity stacked and is slightly low from clearing — this is your best window because he has no meaningful escape and your burst can chunk him heavily or force a flash.
- Avoid invading his first buff at level 2 since he clears fast and may still be at full health with W available, negating your early damage.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your empowered Q on a non-lethal trade expecting to win a prolonged fight — Hecarim's W provides substantial healing during extended combat, and if you burn your Ferocity early without securing a kill, he will outsustain and out-DPS you in the second phase of the fight.
- Also avoid fighting him in open terrain away from brushes, as you lose your passive bonus AD and the element of surprise that your kit depends on.
