Who Wins
- You win pre-6 trades when you can gap close effectively, as Jayce lacks reliable escape tools once you're on top of him.
- Post-6 you maintain the advantage since your R gives you the durability to survive his burst while your damage remains consistent.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is E in → W → Q → E out when you have 50+ fury, as this maximizes your damage while minimizing his poke window.
- Always look to trade when he wastes Q in ranged form or steps up for CS, as his cooldowns are longer than your engage combo.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to hit level 2/3 first and establish lane priority, then look to freeze near your tower to force him into dangerous positions.
- Avoid slow pushing mid-game as Jayce excels at punishing you under tower with his range advantage.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never engage without fury built up, as your damage output is significantly lower and Jayce can easily disengage with his E knockback.
- Don't chase him through minion waves early game, as his Q poke combined with minion damage will chunk you heavily before you can retaliate.
