Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win most direct trades if you can land E onto Ahri, as your W stun into Q burst outdamages her poke pattern at every early level; however, Ahri's range advantage means she can consistently poke you down before you ever get to engage, so you need to respect her ability to whittle you before committing.
  • Post-6, your R gives you extended all-in threat and sustain, but Ahri's R gives her three dashes to completely negate your E gap-close, making a clean kill extremely difficult unless she has already burned her R or is caught without escape options.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to wait for Ahri to misposition or waste her E charm, then immediately dash onto her with your E, proc W stun, and Q for maximum burst before she can reposition; trading without landing E first is a losing proposition because she will simply kite you and poke you down with her Q and W.
  • You should stack fury before engaging by last-hitting or using Q on the wave, then look to all-in when you have 50+ fury to empower your W for the full stun duration.

Wave Control

  • You want to shove the wave quickly with Q to deny Ahri safe poke angles and force her to farm under tower, which reduces her ability to harass you freely; a pushed wave also creates the threat of dive potential once you hit 6, which forces her to play more cautiously.
  • Avoid letting the wave sit in the middle of the lane, as that is where Ahri has the most room to poke you safely while you are trying to CS.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not blindly dash onto Ahri with E when she still has her E charm available, as a landed charm will completely reverse the trade and likely result in your death or a massive health deficit.
  • Many Renekton players overestimate their kill pressure post-6 and burn their R aggressively only to watch Ahri escape with all three R dashes, leaving you overextended and vulnerable to her jungler.
