Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you lose the direct scuttle fight against Ambessa if she plays aggressively with short trades — your W return damage requires her to auto-attack you, which she can avoid by using Q mobility to disengage.
- From level 6, you win the 1v1 only if you force a prolonged fight where your W reflects sustained damage and your tankiness outlasts her burst, ideally with a lead or after she has wasted cooldowns on camps.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Ambessa typically clears Red → Raptors → Blue or Blue → Gromp → Red, looking for early skirmishes and scuttle control at level 3 due to her strong early combat stats and Q mobility making her a threat in open terrain.
Invade or Not
- You should not proactively invade Ambessa — she out-duels you in short skirmishes at early levels, and her Q mobility allows her to disengage or re-engage on her terms, making invades high-risk for you.
- Instead, counter-jungle her camps after a successful gank when she is on the opposite side of the map.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not activate W and walk into Ambessa expecting her to auto-attack into you — she will simply Q away, reset the trade, and re-engage only when your W is down or you are out of position.
- Forcing her into a wall or tight jungle corridor with E before engaging is necessary to prevent her from kiting your W window entirely.
