At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Rammus due to your superior burst damage and mobility through Q dashes, but Rammus's W passive return damage and high base armor make extended trades dangerous — keep it short and decisive.
From level 6, you win the 1v1 by using Q to reposition constantly, avoiding prolonged auto-attack sequences while Rammus has W active, and bursting him down before his tankiness scales with items.

Rammus typically runs a standard clear: Red Buff → Krugs → Raptors → Blue → Gromp → Wolves, or the mirror path starting Blue side, prioritizing fast level 3 to look for early ganks on pushed lanes since his gank threat with E is his primary early value.

You should invade Rammus at his second buff (around 3:15–3:30) when he is between camps and low on HP — target his Blue side if he started Red, as he has no reliable escape and you out-damage him at that point.
However, avoid invading when he is at full HP near his buff, as his W return damage combined with your auto-attack reliance can punish you unexpectedly.

Do not spam auto-attacks into Rammus while his W is active — this is the single biggest mechanical mistake you can make, as the reflected damage will chunk you significantly and negate your damage lead.
Always watch for his W toggle and use Q-based burst windows rather than sustained auto-attack trading patterns.
